Prof. Somaya Hosny

Prof. Somaya Hosny is a board member of National Authority of Quality Assurance
and Accreditation in Education (NAQAAE) in Egypt. She is a Prof. of Histology and
cell biology at Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University (FOM/SCU) in which she
served as the Dean from 2010 to 2014. She has established the quality assurance unit
and led the development of an internal quality system that enabled FOM/SCU to
be the first
national accredited school in May 2010 and to be re-accredited in 2015 and 2021.
She got a master’s degree in health Professions Education Leadership from The University of Illinois, Chicago,
USA in 1987. She has publications in leading medical education journals. She is an EMRO/WHO consultant in
Medical Education, and Editor in Chief of the international journal “Health Profession Education” and an editor
for the regional Journal of Microscopy and Ultrastructure. She has long experience in quality assurance and
accreditation where she shared, as a chair and as a member in many institutional and program accreditations
reviews inside and outside Egypt. She has also worked as consultant for higher education quality assurance
projects, and she is currently the chairperson of the of the committee of reform and support of undergraduate
Medical educational in Egypt. Regionally, she is a board member of the Association of Medical Education in the
Eastern Mediterranean region (AMEEMR). Internationally, she is a board member of the International Social
Accountability and Accreditation steering committee (ISAASC) and coordinator of the standard setting group of
the ISAASC. In her speciality, she has many international publications, and she is a member of the national
histology promotion committee. Among her major areas of interest are quality assurance and accreditation,
leadership and management, student assessment, problem-based learning, community-based education,
interprofessional education and social accountability.

Prof. Kassab is a Professor of Physiology and Medical Education, and Associate Dean
Academics at the College of Medicine, Gulf Medical University. He is also a Professor
of Physiology at the Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University, Egypt. He has held
several positions in academic administration such as the Associate Dean for Academic
Affairs, CMED, Qatar University (2017 to 2020), Chairman of the Department of Medical Education at the
Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University (2013-2016), and Vice Dean for Academic Affairs and Chairman of
Medical Education Unit at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences (CMMS), Arabian Gulf University
(AGU) in Bahrain (2005 – 2009 and from 2010-2013). He worked also as a Professor of Physiology at the Royal
College of Surgeons in Ireland (RCSI)-Medical University of Bahrain (2009-2010). After receiving his medical
degree in Egypt, he obtained a master’s degree in medical Physiology in 1989 and then enrolled in a joint PhD
program between the University of Mississippi (USA) and Suez Canal University (Egypt). Prof. Kassab holds
also a PhD degree in Health Professions Education from Erasmus University Rotterdam, Netherlands. Prof
Kassab is a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Educators. He is also currently on the Executive Committee Board
of the Association of Medical Education in the Eastern Mediterranean Region (AMEEMR), the regional body of
the World Federation for Medical Education (WFME). Prof. Kassab served also as a WHO consultant in Medical
Education and accreditation in the EMRO region. He is also a member of the Editorial and Advisory Boards of
several journals in medical education such as BMC Medical Education, Health Professions Education Journal,
and Advances in Medical Education & Practice. He conducted several workshops on different areas of Medical
Education in Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Yemen, United Arab Emirates, Qatar, Tunisia, and Jordan. He
published over seventy-five articles in international peer-reviewed Journals in Medical Physiology and Medical
Education.

Prof. Sami Shaban

Dr. Al Hilfi is currently a Professor in Public health and health profession education at
the Madinat Al Elm University / Ministry of Higher Education Iraq, and the
representative of the Iraqi Anti-Tuberculosis Society and Chest Diseases in the Arab
Union against Tobacco Use. Dr. Al Hilfi is the 2019 Award Winner of the NCD United
Nations Task Force presented during the UNGA /New York 2019 and was the technical officer at /WHO/EMRO
for almost 3 years. Before that, Dr. Thamer was the director of many programs during his work in the WHO
office, Baghdad/ Iraq including NCD Road Traffic Accident, Violence against Children and Women, Cancer and
Cancer Registry Program, Director of Tobacco free initiative program, member of the Higher National Iraqi
committee for Tobacco control, and the focal point for the cluster committee of Mental Health Psychosocial
Support (MHPSS) for IDPs and emergency coordinator. He led the main national surveys in Iraq including GYTS
for tobacco use among adolescents, NCD-STEP Survey, and the I-PSM (Iraq Public Sector Modernization). Dr.
Al Hilfi was the head of the community medicine department and family medicine 2004 – 2014, the director and
initiator of the Postgraduate Diploma studies in medical education, and moreover, the director of the accreditation
and quality assurance unit in the main educational institution in Iraq, Al Kindy College of Medicine / University
of Baghdad. Moreover, he was the former Acting Chief of Party/ Primary Health Care Project (PHCP) /USAID
where he sets standards, systems, protocols, and benchmarks for quality-assured medical education and
continuing professional development. He is the first-ever Iraqi with a higher degree in medical education and an
expert in this field. He also represents his country in national, regional, and international projects and conferences.
He is the Vice President of the leading committee for Iraqi CCM’s (Country Coordinated Mechanism) steering
committee for implementing the global fund program for Iraqi activities related to Malaria, AIDs, and
Tuberculosis. He was also the Audit & Finance Committee/Global Fund (GF), and the Alternative board member
representing the EMRC (Eastern Mediterranean Region Committee in the GF /Board meetings. (2013-16) He was
the Senior National Professional Officer /OIC/WHO-Baghdad office providing support to the project team in
Baghdad for the achievement of the objectives of Iraq Public Sector Modernization (I-PSM), and roadmap for the
modernization of the health sector in Iraq, in addition to providing technical support to NCD (including mental
health), and injuries program. He Provided support to the project team in Baghdad for the achievement of the
objectives of I-PSM and the roadmap for the modernization of the health sector in Iraq as well as managed the
day-to-day work related to project implementation, support the development and ensure effective implementation
of the project work plan by collecting and analyzing information on problems faced in I-PSM and recommend
effective and timely solutions, Coordinate regularly with members of the Modernization Unit in MOH and the
Ministerial Advisory Committee and other national stakeholders including national committees, sub committees

closely with the government counterparts ,Represent WHO in meetings with senior government officials as well

Manager on the progress in activities of IPSM in the Health sector, Identify and contribute to the recruitment of

Dr Enjy Abouzeid is a passionate Associate Professor of Medical Education at the
Faculty of Medicine, Suez Canal University. She focuses on active learning, clinical
reasoning, and e-learning, bringing a wealth of knowledge and expertise to her field.
With a rich academic background and a PhD, she actively contributes to the Academy of Medical Education
(AoME) as a Fellow and council member, advancing medical teaching and assessment. She also holds a
Fellowship with the Higher Education Authority, UK, and participates as an Associate Fellow and member of the
Fellowship committee for the Association for Medical Education in Europe (AMEE). Additionally, she serves on

Omer Alkhnbashi is an assistant professor at the Mohammed Bin Rashid University of

bioinformatics approaches to characterize Genomic CRISPR-Cas systems, integrating
advanced genomic sequencing techniques and machine learning to identify biomarkers

20 years of experience in teaching, research, and clinical practice. I was born on
February 13, 1980, in Egypt. I hold a Ph.D. in Forensic Medicine and Clinical
Toxicology from Zagazig University, Egypt, as well as an M.Sc. in Forensic Medicine
and Clinical Toxicology and an M.D. in Medicine and Surgery from the same university.
Throughout my career, I have held various academic and professional positions, including Professor of Forensic
Medicine and Clinical Toxicology at Al Rayan National College of Medicine, Al Madinah, Saudi Arabia, and
Zagazig University, Egypt. I have also worked as a senior consultant in forensic medicine and toxicology at
Zagazig University Hospital. I am an active member of several professional and scientific societies, including the

Dr. Susan Waller

Dr Susan Waller is an experienced health professional educator, researcher and
curriculum designer. Susan has designed and facilitated courses and workshops across
Australia and internationally on interprofessional education and clinical supervision.
Susan led the regional nursing and allied health clinical education program for Monash
University from 2014-2020 and from 2014-2017 managed and evaluated a large government funded simulation
program in hospital and community health centers. From 2016-2020, Susan worked with colleagues at Monash
University to facilitate and evaluate clinical supervision training across Victoria. Presently appointed as an
Adjunct Senior Research Fellow, Susan continues to participate on a longitudinal multi-university graduate
tracking outcome study. Susan supervised and examined theses on the Master of Surgical Education course at the
University of Melbourne from 2017-2020. Susan completed the Harvard Macy courses on Health Professions
Education (2007), on Leadership and Innovation in Education and on Assessment (2019). Susan’s PhD, awarded
by the University of Queensland in 2010, was in Interprofessional Clinical Education. In the past decade, Susan
has contributed to 24 peer reviewed papers, 4 government reports and 2 book chapters. She has been a member of
academic teams which have attracted just under 2 million dollars in grant support. Susan’s clinical background is
in paediatric physiotherapy. Graduating in 1981, Susan completed her Master of Paediatric Physiotherapy at the
University of Queensland in 2003. Susan was the Senior Physiotherapist at a statewide disability service and
supervised over 60 allied health professionals as a member of the Practice Support Team. Susan has been a
member of the Human Research Ethics Committee of CPL since 2010. Dr Susan Waller is presently an Assistant
Professor in the Department of Medical Education at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at the UAE
University since January 2021. Susan coordinates the preclinical clinical skills courses and leads the college
mentoring program. Susan’s research interests are in interprofessional education and practice, workplace

الصحية 2028-2024م، تنفيذ منصة نظام المعلومات الصحية DHIS2على جميع مستويات وبرامج الصحة. شارك في دورات وورش عمل
دولية حول نظم المعلومات الصحية، الذكاء الاصطناعي، وعلوم البيانات وجودة الرعاية الصحية وإدارة الأزمات الصحية
