Abstract<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Background:<\/strong> Patient safety has received increased attention in recent years and become a major concern of the general public and of policymakers worldwide, but mostly with a focus on the epidemiology of errors and adverse events, rather than on practices that reduce such events. Patient safety education is increasingly being introduced into medical school curriculum and a measure of effectiveness of different forms of delivery of patient safety education is needed.
Aim of the study:<\/strong> To assess the perception and attitude of Yemeni medical students regarding patient\u2019s safety education.
Methods:<\/strong> A cross – sectional study was Carried out in the Faculty of Medicine, University of Aden. Study population were fourth, fifth and sixth year medical students. Data collection was done with a self-administration questionnaire.  231 students were enrolled in this study chosen by stratified random sampling from total 597 students in the three academic levels ( 4th, 5th and 6th  years).
Results: <\/strong>85.7 % of students agree with the important of patient\u2019s safety in compared with clinical sciences knowledge, while 22.9% of students received formal education (e.g. lectures, group discussion. etc.) about patient safety during medical curriculum, and 55% of them believe that real life examples of mistakes and medical error are very helpful, 81.8% of students say its frequently easy to ask any questions when there is something not understood and 70% of students prefer the timing of patient\u2019s safety education to be in the clinical lectures.
Conclusion:<\/strong> the need to introduce patient\u2019s safety teaching in the curriculum of our faculty of medicine and health sciences and reporting and ethical judgment of medical errors in our hospitals.
